International pop sensation Justin Bieber is in India right now and his arrival has seen many crazy fans getting their 15 seconds of fame. But in this cricket-crazy country, how can fans of cricketers be behind.


So Wednesday saw an Indian Premier League tie between Gujarat Lions and Delhi Daredevils at kanpur's Green Park Stadium interrupted after a fan of the Gujarat skipper Suresh Raina evaded security and ran onto the field for an autograph from him.


The incident took place during the fourth over of the innings with Pradeep Sangwan bowling. Sangwan had bowled 2 deliveries when a man invaded the field and ri=ushed towards Raina, who was fielding at the short third man position.

The fan, who was wearing Raina’s jersey, approached the Lions captain and shook hands with him, He then fell to his knees took out a sheet of paper and pen for the southpaw cricketer to autograph.

Both the umpire and Raina tried to handle the situation with delicacy and requested the fan to leave the field of play.

All the fan wanted was to touch the feet of the local boy who had become a national hero -- Suresh Raina -- and in that he succeeded.
