1. Yudo is globally recognised in the hot runner systems space. How has the India chapter evolved under your leadership, and what differentiates Yudo India from its peers?

Yudo India’s journey has been one of steady evolution and resilience. What started as a small support wing has grown into a strategic pillar of Yudo’s global operations. Over the past 25 years, we have focused on building deep-rooted customer trust, nurturing a high-calibre engineering team, and expanding local manufacturing to significantly reduce turnaround times.

When Yudo India began, the acceptance of hot runner technology in the country was minimal, with very few players in the market. As demand and production grew, competition intensified. Yet, Yudo India continued to thrive, drawing strength from our advanced Korean technology and the legacy of our multinational heritage.

What truly differentiates us is our firm commitment to precision and partnership. We don’t just supply hot runner systems- we collaborate closely with our customers, co-creating solutions that meet their unique requirements. This approach, combined with a robust service network across India, has allowed us to stand tall amidst evolving market dynamics and the entry of new competitors.

2. The Indian manufacturing landscape is transforming rapidly with initiatives like 'Make in India'. How has Yudo capitalised on this momentum?

The transformation in India’s manufacturing sector has opened up incredible opportunities, and Yudo India has been quick to align with this momentum. With ‘Make in India’ driving self-reliance, we’ve expanded our reach across industries- from automotive to consumer goods and packaging.

A big part of our focus has been localisation. By scaling up our operations, setting up advanced QC & system testing facilities. We’re reducing dependence on imports and making production faster, more efficient, and sustainable.

Our vision goes beyond serving India- we want to position India as a manufacturing hub that can cater to emerging markets, especially across Africa, strengthening our role in the global supply chain.

3. Could you shed light on your expansion strategy and what the next three years look like for Yudo India?

The next phase for Yudo India is about scaling responsibly and intelligently. We’re investing in smart manufacturing and digitised customer interfaces to further enhance service delivery and ensure faster turnaround times for our customers.

R&D has always been at the heart of what we do, and in the coming years, we’re committed to strengthening it more than ever. As the demand for advanced materials grows, innovation will be critical to developing solutions that meet evolving industry needs.

We’re also deepening collaborations with educational institutions to bridge the skill gap in mould engineering, because we believe the future of this industry will be shaped by the talent we nurture today. Over the next three years, our focus is on building these capabilities to deliver greater value and position Yudo India as a true centre of excellence in hot runner systems.

4. With increasing attention on sustainability and circular economies, how is Yudo India aligning with these global imperatives?

Sustainability has always been an integral part of Yudo’s ethos, and we’re committed to aligning with global imperatives around circular economies. On the product side, our hot runner systems are designed to help clients optimise processes, enabling the development of lighter parts, recyclable polymers and reducing material waste.

Within our own operations, we are adopting greener manufacturing practices- energy-efficient machinery, water-saving systems, and a shift toward fully digitalised, paperless processes. Even in our product design, we focus on minimising energy consumption through systems that generate less heat and operate with greater efficiency.

For us, sustainability isn’t just an initiative; it’s embedded in how we innovate, manufacture, and support our customers in building a more responsible future.

It’s not just about being eco-friendly- it’s about future-proofing our customers’ businesses in a changing regulatory and consumer environment.

5. You’ve led Yudo India through a crucial growth period. What has shaped your leadership philosophy, and how do you motivate teams in a highly technical, precision-driven industry?

I believe leadership is built on two pillars- clarity and empathy. Clarity in setting the vision, and empathy in understanding the roles and challenges of the people who bring that vision to life.

At Yudo India, I encourage an ownership mindset where every engineer, technician, and manager sees their work as a craft, not just a task. We celebrate small wins, keep communication open at every level, and create an environment where innovation thrives on trust.

Freedom and autonomy are central to our culture. When people are trusted to take decisions and own their work, they naturally find purpose and pride in what they do. That, I believe, is what fuels a high-performing, precision-driven team.
