In an exclusive conversation, the celebrated writer opens up about her upcoming book - one that breaks genre boundaries and speaks straight to the soul. And yes, it's non-fiction. Curious? So were we.
So, Chirasree, how are you, and how has your writing been coming along?
Hello, Midday. It’s nice meeting the team again. I am well. And my writing schedule is surviving the chaos and demands of daily life - rather well.
That’s great, Chirasree. We are excited to know about your upcoming book. So, what’s it about, and when is it coming out?
The book is entirely different from what I have written so far. It’s a non-fiction book, and while I am excited for it to come out soon, I'm curious how my thriller readers will receive this - it’s a very different book. My heart says they will like it.
Do you mind delving a little deeper into the subject for us?
I'm afraid I can’t say much at the moment. But yes, it’s very close to my own journey and experiences so far in life. Although, it is not about me or for me. It is intended for those who will choose to read the book.
Alright, interesting. For a moment there, we thought you were talking about your own life story. Nonetheless, we are even more intrigued now about what this book entails. So, Chirasree, who are these people who you think will choose to read your new book?
All human beings. This book has been written for everyone. Indeed, I don’t expect a ten-year-old to understand the significance of the book or the words in it. However, anyone over sixteen years old should ideally be able to process the content of the book and benefit from it.
Great, Chirasree. So, don’t you think it could be a tad risky to target such a broad spectrum of audience through a single book? What made you decide on this?
I see where the question comes from. But when you read the book, I am sure you won’t have this question anymore. In fact, you will be able to answer this question of yours yourself. I firmly believe that every human should pick up this book at least once in their lifetime. When I say 'every human,' I refer to people in our country. It will eventually help them feel at one with themselves, with their own journeys.
Wow. So, where does this book stand in the publishing process at the moment? When do your readers get to grab it?
It is in publication right now. I am glad that my publisher, Mithaas Services, has been so kind as to not only understand the depth of the book but also invest genuine efforts in making it even better. I will soon share the release date of the book. I can say right now that it is only a couple of weeks away from seeing the light of day.
