Celebs on SC decision to cage stray dogs
Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Dhawan, who are pet parents, shared a strong note that read, “They call it a menace. We call it a heartbeat. Today, the Supreme Court says - take every stray dog off the streets of Delhi-NCR and lock them away. No sunlight. No freedom. No familiar faces they greet every morning. But these aren't just 'stray dogs'. They are the ones who wait outside your tea stall for a biscuit. They are the silent night guards for shopkeepers. They are the tails wagging when children return from school. They are the warmth in a cold, uncaring city."

Vir Das urged the people of Delhi to adopt the strays and send generous contributions to animal shelters.

Earlier, Raveena Tandon had slammed the local authorities for not working efficiently towards the sterilisation and vaccination of strays, due to which the SC was forced to pass such a decision. "I feel where the population of indies has increased, it is honestly not these poor dogs to be blamed. It means the vaccination and sterilisation drives aren’t done by local bodies," she told HT City.
Rupali Ganguly has also criticised the Supreme Court's verdict on stray dogs. She said that the strays are not just our protectors but also part of our culture and faith.
In our traditions, dogs guard Bhairav Baba’s temple and are fed on Amavasya for blessings. They’ve grown up on our streets, guarding shops, waiting outside our doors, barking away thieves.

If we remove them now, we risk losing our protectors before the real dangers arrive, like…
Adivi Sesh has penned an earnest letter to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India and the Chief Minister of Delhi, urging an immediate reconsideration of the directive for mass confinement.
Lyricist-stand-up comedian Varun Grover said, “Stray dog problem is real. And it’s a problem created by humans who hate dogs, not by those who love dogs. Stray dog sterilisation efforts by individuals and NGOs have been constantly blocked by societies by calling them dog-feeders."

Meanwhile, Rajiv Adatia slammed the decision and suggested that instead of animals, rapists, murderers and substance abusers should be relocated and locked.
