The legendary stunt and action choreographer Veeru Devgan passed away on May 27, 2019. The funeral took place at Vile Parle crematorium, Mumbai, this evening. Late in the evening, Jeetendra visited Ajay Devgn's residence in Juhu to meet the bereaved family. All pictures/Yogen Shah
According to sources, Veeru Devgan was suffering from breathing problems after which he was immediately admitted to Surya Hospital, Santacruz. However, his condition got critical and resulted in cardiac arrest. Ajay Devgn shoulders the mortal remains of father Veeru Devgan during the funeral procession.
Sonali Bendre and Srishti Arya also visited Ajay Devgn's residence in Juhu to offer their condolences to the family.
Veeru Devgan, who hailed from Amritsar, ran away from home to try his luck in films. He initially wanted to become an actor but became a stuntman and later an action choreographer, the veteran stunt director had recalled in several interviews.
Veeru Devgan had choreographed fight and action scenes in many iconic films. His filmography includes films like Inkaar (1977), Mr Natwarlal (1979), Kranti (1981), Himmatwala (1983), Shahenshah (1988), Tridev (1989), and many more.
Come 1991, Veeru Devgan launched son Ajay in Phool Aur Kaante. If Ajay Devgn is remembered for the iconic entry scene, the superstar has his father to thank for. Veeru also tried his hand at direction with Hindustan Ki Kasam.
