Jabariya Jodi reunites Sidharth and Parineeti almost five years after their hit Hasee Toh Phasee. Jabariyaa Jodi is based on the concept of 'Pakadwa Shaadi', wherein men have been kidnapped, captured randomly from a number of districts, and gotten them married to brides at gunpoint, in the state of Bihar.
Dance India Dance co-judge Kareena Kapoor Khan also joined into the party, shaking legs with the duo. Kareena aced her fashion style sporting a stunning red flare tube dress.
In a recent interview, Parineeti said that the duo were particularly careful in choosing their next. "So while we used to talk about working together again, we did not go for those films because we wanted to do something extremely different from Hasee Toh Phasee", she said.
We wanted to do a love story, a story with that kind of chemistry but in a different world. When this film came, Sid called me and said we should do this film and I should talk to Ekta," she added. Sidharth is also glad to have collaborated with Parineeti again. "I think I haven't played this kind of role earlier in my career and for Pari (Parineeti Chopra) also, it's a different world and different role. We are really excited for the film", he said.
Also starring Aparshakti Khurana, Sanjay Mishra, Neeraj Sood, Gopal Dutt, Javed Jaffrey, and Chandan Roy Sanyal, the Ekta Kapoor production releases on August 2, 2019. The romantic comedy is directed by Prashant Singh, while its music is composed by Tanishk Bagchi and Vishal Mishra.
