In 2010, when we saw Munni Badnaam Hui, we were completely hooked to Malaika Arora and the way she danced in that fantastically composed and choreographed song. It became the biggest and the most popular song of the year and bagged many awards.
Nine years later, it's time for Salman Khan aka Chulbul Pandey to be Badnaam. The song gets a gender twist and as everyone knows by now, the song is titled Munna Badnaam Hua. To celebrate the song, the team of Dabang hosted a song launch event in Juhu, Mumbai.
The song has already created a lot of buzz for all good reasons including a dance face-off between Salman Khan and director Prabhudheva who has been hailed for his impeccable dance moves.
During the Q and A session, when someone from the media commented on how Munna Badnam was better than its successor, the actor replied and said, ”We tried to destroy this song actually...(laughs) but it just turned out better. God has been on our side.”
It will be a treat for the fans of Salman Khan and Prabhudeva to witness both of them shaking a leg together in the song.
It was Salman Khan's insistence that Prabhu Deva is a part of the number. And why not, if you remember, the director and choreographer makes a cameo in all his films, right from Wanted to Rowdy Rathore to R… Rajkumar to Singh Is Bliing.
For the uninitiated, this action potboiler also gives us a glimpse of the young Chulbul Pandey and his romance with Saiee Manjrekar, and how their romance was short-lived after the arrival of Balli, the antagonist of the tale, played by Kiccha Sudeep. It all gets darker and gorier.
