Akshay Kumar had to fly back to India after his mother Aruna Bhatia was admitted to the ICU due to being critical. She passed away on September 8 and the next day, on the actor's birthday, he posted a picture with her and penned an emotional note.

The actor will also be seen essaying the lead alongside Deepika Padukone and Ananya Panday in Shakun Batra's next untitled venture.
