While pan-India films have been the norm in the last few years, superstar Shah Rukh Khan's film saw a pan-India celebration. Fans of the star from across the country not only watched the film on its release day but celebrated the film with cakes, firecrackers and garlanding on life-sized posters of the King. Fans also garlanded posters of the film. On day 1 itself, the film broke several records at the box office. With a India collection of Rs. 57 crore, the film crossed Rs. 100 crore worldwide on release day. It became the highest opening for a Hindi film in the history of Indian cinema. Soon, it also became the fasted Hindi film to cross Rs. 200 crore at the box office in two days. The film has already broken opening records of films like KGF 2 and Baahubali 2.

As for the film, 'Pathaan' is directed by Siddharth Anand of 'War' fame and also stars Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Dimple Kapadia, and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The film is part of YRF's Spy Universe which also included Salman Khan's Tiger and Hrithik Roshan's 'War' in which he plays Kabir. Salman Khan had a cameo in Pathaan and SRK will be returning the favour in Tiger 3
