67th Emmy Awards: 'Olive Kitteridge' on winning spree

'Olive Kitteridge', a four-hour miniseries based on an eponymous 2008 novel by Elizabeth Strout, on Sunday won multiple honours, including Limited Series, Lead Actor and Actress in a Limited Series or Movie at the 67th annual Primetime Emmy Awards

Los Angeles: 'Olive Kitteridge', a four-hour miniseries based on an eponymous 2008 novel by Elizabeth Strout, on Sunday won multiple honours, including Limited Series, Lead Actor and Actress in a Limited Series or Movie at the 67th annual Primetime Emmy Awards.


Actress Frances McDormand walked away with the Lead Actress award in the category for her titular role in the show, while Richard Jenkins, who played her husband on screen, was named the Lead Actor.


Bill Murray's work in the miniseries was also lauded with an Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Limited Series Or A Movie award.


For its well-chosen cast, 'Olive Kitteridge' casting directors Laura Rosenthal and Carolyn Pickman were awarded in the Outstanding Casting For A Limited Series, Movie Or A Special category.

The show, about a middle-school math teacher Olive and her marriage with Henry which spans 25 years, even won Outstanding Directing For A Limited Series, Movie Or A Dramatic Special for Lisa Cholodenko; Outstanding Writing For A Limited Series, Movie Or A Dramatic Special for Jane Anderson; and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For A Limited Series Or A Movie Afor editor Jeffrey M. Werner.

As far as the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Limited Series or Movie is concerned, Regina King registered a victory for her role as Aliyah Shadeed in 'American Crime'.

Hosted by Andy Samberg, the Emmy Awards were held at the Microsoft Theater.
