Comedian-actor Jerry Van Dyke, a four-time Emmy nominee, is no more. He was 86.

Four-time Emmy nominee, comedian-actor Jerry Van Dyke passed away Friday afternoon. He was 86. Jerry's wife Shirley told tmz.com that he died at their Arkansas ranch with her by his side. She said they were involved in a car accident over two years ago and Jerry's health had deteriorated since then.
His elder brother and actor Dick Van Dyke visited them over the Christmas holiday. Jerry pursued stand-up as a young man and performed at military bases around the world.
He made his acting debut on 'The Dick Van Dyke' show in 1960s and followed that up with appearances on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' before becoming a regular on 'The Judy Garland Show'.
Jerry is best known for his role on 'Coach'. He earned four Emmy nominations for playing Assistant Coach Luther Van Dam on the show. He also had major roles on 'Yes, Dear' and 'The Middle'. He is survived by his wife and two children.
