Daniel Radcliffe opened up about Johnny Depp's Fantastic Beasts' casting as Grindelwald, which drew a lot of backlash since announcement. Fans have been very critical of the casting, considering that the actor was accused of domestic abuse by ex-wife, Amber Heard.

"It's a hard thing for me," the Harry Potter star said. "This is a weird analogy to draw, [but] in the NFL, lots of players are arrested for smoking weed and some people's behaviour goes way beyond that; it's tolerated because they're famous players. Obviously, what Johnny has been accused of is much greater than that." JK Rowling published a statement in November, saying that she is not only comfortable with Depp's casting "but genuinely happy" with it.
