The 17-year-old actor regularly wears a long skirt over his skin-tight trousers and is very free with his fashion choices.

Smith, who has been selected by Karl Lagerfeld to be a new Chanel ambassador, doesn't understand why people feel they have to conform when it comes to clothes, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

"I feel like people are kind of confused about gender norms. I feel like people don't really get it. I'm not saying that I get it, I'm just saying that I've never seen any distinction.

"I don't see man clothes and woman clothes, I just see scared people and comfortable people," Smith said in an interview to GQ Style magazine.
