Here's how it starts...

Starring Al Pacino, Logan Lerman, Dylan Baker, Josh Radnor and others, the show packs a punch with an impeccable star cast. In the late 1970s, a few mysterious murders alarm FBI agent Millie Malone, played by Jerrika Hinton about something being fishy in America. As she proceeds to try and solve the cases, Millie comes across an underground Nazi group. What makes her even more suspicious about the plan is the sudden death of a few NASA astronauts, who have been involved with Hitler on multiple projects against the Jews.

Leading a teenage life, Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum is busy making money for his grandmother, Ruth. Unaware of the past, his grandmother's death leaves him an orphan. Every episode and every scene leads him a step closer to Ruth's past, making him realise how she survived Auschwitz. A series of incidents in Jonah's life gives him a purpose to do something for his family and country.

Who are Hunters?

When you see the trailer, you will get a gist about how and why the title works in the entire show. Here's how it works - Hunters, who are after the Nazis, want to end to the war against Jews, which has been going on since the 1940s. History lovers and people who have read about Hitler and his dictatorship will understand David Weil's Hunters, but who are still new to Auschwitz, need to get back to their history books.

Watch the trailer of Al Pacino-starrer Hunters here:

Jonah, who is currently devastated after the demise of the last member of his family, meets his grandmother's friends. Though she tries hard to keep him away from the entire 'Hunters' mission, Jonah ends up helping one of her friends, Al Pacino (Meyer Offerman). Meyer and his team of oldies - Kate Mulvany as Sister Harriet, Carol Kane as Mindy Markowitz, Saul Rubinek as Murray Markowitz, and of course, some youngsters too - Josh Radnor as Lonny Flash, Tiffany Boone as Roxy Jones, and Louis Ozawa as Joe Torrance come across the secret mission of Nazi officials who are living a normal life and conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S.

What makes Hunters worth your time?

Al Pacino! Do you need more to watch this one? Meyer, who has always been a speaker his entire life, shares a lot of knowledge and teaches us how to live a meaningful life in this limited time available on Earth. Josh Radnor's flirty yet funny character makes this dark show a bit light-hearted. As every episode lasts more than an hour, we need Lonny's comic timing to keep the pace going.

Speaking of acting, Jerrika Hinton of Grey's Anatomy, adds a dash of mystery to every scene. As she unravels what the Nazis are about to do, and how Hunters are in full swing to make the conspiracy fall flat, Millie's life too starts unboxing. Back in the 1970s, when being a homosexual was not accepted in society, Millie had her own struggle to keep it going despite so much on her plate.

Though its a tad difficult to see Jonah Heidelbaum as a grown teen, his apprehensive role is convincing enough. The transformation happens aesthetically as the show proceeds. The title track reveals pretty much the gist of the story. It starts with the game of chess, where every character has a move to make, further leading Meyer and the Colonel (Lena Olin) to meet, revealing what's coming next in the life of Americans.

It's slow, it's beautiful, it's poetic! Every action scene is shot with the utmost beauty. The slo-mo scenes, with a catchy background score, along with a pop of colour in every frame; Hunters is a good watch since the first shot. There's jazz, there's drama, there's everything one needs who is old-school in their heart. Good acting and perfect accents picked up by the actors will make you time travel back to the 70s but in a more colourful world, and this time, it's not Eastman.
