The best actress award went to relative newcomer Sophie Kennedy Clark for her performance in 'Philomena', in which she played the younger version of Judi Dench's titular character, said The Hollywood Reporter.

Crime series 'Broadchurch' star David Tennant won the TV actor award for BBC drama 'The Escape Artist', while Shirley Henderson, one of McAvoy's co-stars in 'Filth', scooped the TV actress title for 'Southcliffe'.
