Last week, it was widely reported that Johnny Depp had decided to hide in his private island until the controversy surrounding his ugly divorce from Amber Heard blows over.

However, an entertainment portal has now found out that the actor was in Los Angeles, sporting a hipstery hairdo and hanging with funnyman Doug Stanhope and noted Taylor Swift songbook interpreter Ryan Adams.

What was surprising is that Depp was hanging out with Stanhope, who has been a magnet for bad press throughout his divorce, partly due to some remarkably asinine comments that he made in a blog post which was later published in a newspaper.

The comic was one of the many celebs who rushed to Depp's defense after Heard's domestic violence accusations went public.

Sources say Depp not only posed for photos but also jumped on stage at the famous Comedy Store on Sunset Blvd, thus confirming that he cares two hoots about negative press.
