Michael Sheen has shot a cameo role as actor Ben Affleck's boss in Terrence Malick's new untitled drama.

The 42-year-old actor went to visit his girlfriend Rachel McAdams on the set of the movie and found the director was not prepared to let him leave until he shot a scene, which he did, reported Playlist magazine.

"My girlfriend was in a film that Terrence Malick did so I went to visit her on set and apparently, if you're an actor and you turn up on a Terrence Malick set, he asks you to be in his film.

So I got to be Ben Affleck's boss for the day," Sheen said. Although little is known about the film, there is a large cast attached, included Javier Bardem, Rachel Weisz and Jessica Chastain.
