"This beauty? My mom," he captioned a glamorous old portrait of Frager.

"She was the difference in many lives. Many lives. We say goodbye to her today. Safe crossing, mom!" the Oscar-winner wrote.

The 60-year-old "Forrest Gump" star's wife, Rita Wilson, also shared an image of her husband alongside his mom.

"This wonderful lady gave birth to my husband, and three other children. Thank you for bringing my love into the world.

She is at peace now," Wilson captioned the black-and-white photo.

Frager shared Tom, as well as three other children, Jim, Sandra and Larry, with her ex-husband, Amos Hanks. Tom's father, Amos, and Frager divorced in 1960. Amos passed away in 1992.
