Viola Davis to play lead in Amazon's Troupe Zero

Oscar winner Viola Davis will star in Amazon Studio's feature film Troupe Zero. The film's script has been penned by "Beasts of the Southern Wild" scribe Lucy Alibar, with director duo Bert and Bertie helming it, reported Variety

Oscar winner Viola Davis will star in Amazon Studio's feature film Troupe Zero. The film's script has been penned by "Beasts of the Southern Wild" scribe Lucy Alibar, with director duo Bert and Bertie helming it, reported Variety.


Todd Black, who previously worked with Davis on "Fences", for which she won an Oscar, and also Antwone Fisher, is producing the project with Amazon fully financing it.


Davis is also attached to star in and produce Universal's adaptation of "I Almost Forgot About You" which will be helmed by director Malcolm D. Lee.
