The Film Heritage Foundation (FHF) has been screening classics from Indian cinema and beyond every week at Mumbai's Regal Cinema, beginning with legendary films by British filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock in July.

The screenings began on July 11 at 6.30 p.m., with the director's 1959 classic North by Northwest. It will be followed by Psycho, Vertigo, and Rear Window in the coming weeks. The foundation had shared a post with a long note announcing the free screening. The post read, “FHF begins regular screenings at Regal Cinema, Mumbai, building on our commitment to the big screen experience starting with ‘It’s Hitchcock Time’ this July! Four classics from the Master of Suspense open with “North by Northwest” on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 6.30 p.m. at Regal Cinema, Mumbai! Don’t miss the fantastic opportunity to watch “Psycho” (Original Theatrical Release), “Vertigo” and “Rear Window” over the next few weeks! The screening schedule will be out soon. All screenings are free. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Special thanks to Prashant Kanyalkar for the poster design.”

Movie buffs gather in large numbers for the screening

With the recent post, it was seen that fans and movie buffs gathered in a long queue for the screening outside the single-screen theatre. The queue occupied the whole street till the theatre's entrance. Looking at the audience turning up in large numbers reveals that the movie lovers have a nuanced interest towards the iconic filmmaker. Alfred Hitchcock is known for his psychologically driven films. He focused on highlighting psychological disorders through his films.
