Dwarkish, who guaranteed a few good laughs in his hey days as comedian, is playing villain in the film Anjadiru, which is releasing next week.u00a0

Directed by Janardhan, whose first film Boyfriend did average business, Anjadiru has an interesting mix of actors. Suman Ranganathan (remember her sultry siren act in Aa Ab Laut Chale?) dances with Dwarkish, Adi Lokesh plays henchman and Avinash appears in a cameo. Prashant plays the role of misguided youth and Shuba Poonja is his love interest.

You've got an interesting line up of veteran actors and young stars in Anjadiru. Are you nervous about audience expectations?
I have a good script. The audience is sure to appreciate the story, though it's a remake. I don't work with stars who throw tantrums when the director does not okay their first take. I have quarrelled with such actors. I prefer to work with actors who rehearse and pay attention to their work.u00a0

The title, Anjadiru, is like a call to arms.
(Laughs) I like it because it has a kind of energy. I had gone over close to 100 titles before Dwarkish chose this one.u00a0u00a0u00a0

There are reports of incredible stunt sequences...
There is action but it's part of the story. We didn't use duplicate artistes in any of the stunts. I wanted to keep the story as real as possible.u00a0

Is a remake the only way to ensure box office success?
It's the safest way, I'd say. Many films have flopped in the recent past because of the tendency to overdo things on screen. They seemed so out of touch with reality. Let's keep our films simple and real.
