I have been offered Punjabi films for the last five years, but I wasn’t doing them. I wanted someone to bet on me with a different concept. Why Sidhu Moosewala's parents protested against Punjab police? Deets inside

The parents of the late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala staged a protest against the Mansa Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) over the non-registration of an FIR on their complaint against music producer Bunty Bains and others, alleging financial irregularities. "Bunty Bains, who is the manager of my company, has not given me any statement regarding its earnings. I filed a complaint against Bunty Bains, Gurpreet Singh Bhasin, and Shabbir Momin. "With the blessings of millions of souls who love Shubhdeep, the Almighty has put Shubh's younger brother in our lap. However, the Government is now troubling me, asking me to prove his legal status. I want to request the CM (Bhagwant Mann) that please let me get the treatment done with, then I will come wherever the government calls me. I am an ex-Army man; I will never run away from the law. Yash in Toxic teaser

Christian body seeks removal of Toxic teaser for hurting religious sentiments

The first look teaser of Yash, from his upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups, which was released in January 2026 on his birthday, has faced fresh trouble. This time around, from the Christian community. The National Christian Federation has filed a formal complaint against the film, alleging that it includes certain scenes that are offensive to Christians and disrespectful to their religious beliefs. Christian group complaints against Yash's Toxic teaser In its complaint, the NCF alleged that the film includes scenes that hurt religious sentiments and portray Christianity in a derogatory manner. The organisation has particularly objected to scenes involving Saint Michael the Archangel, claiming that the depiction is inappropriate and amounts to an insult to a revered religious figure. The federation also further alleged that objectionable and obscene visuals have been shown in the presence of angels, which is unacceptable and deeply offensive to the Christian community. As a result, the NCF has demanded the immediate removal of the debated scenes, including the related content uploaded on YouTube. The body has also called for corrective action by the filmmakers. The complaint was submitted to the Film Chamber of Commerce, as well as to the state government's Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The complaint was filed by Pradeep Kumar, president of the National Christian Federation. Kumar urged the makers to remove the controversial scenes and also issue a public apology to the Christian community. The organisation further warned that it will initiate legal action if its demands are not met and if the alleged offensive content is not withdrawn. Other complaints against Yash's Toxic teaser Interestingly, when the teaser was released, social activist Dinesh Kallahalli filed a formal complaint with the CBFC, objecting to the "obscene, sexually explicit and morally offensive scenes." Similarly, the women’s wing of the AAP’s Karnataka unit had submitted a formal complaint to the Karnataka State Commission for Women (KSWC) seeking appropriate action against the teaser, including its removal. The KSWC then wrote to the CBFC. The letter read, "The obscene and explicit content in the teaser of this movie is causing serious harm to the social well-being of women and children. These scenes, released in the public domain without any age-related warning, degrade the dignity of women and insult Kannada culture."
