Dulquer Salmaan gearing up for his Bollywood debut film, Karwaan's release is juggling between Mumbai and other states. The actor stole some time from his hectic schedule and met the press for an interaction. Considering Dulquer attracts immense female fan following, there was a coffee date fixed with a few female journalists. In a windy evening, sitting by the balcony with a beach view, the superstar of Malayalam film industry spoke about everything under the sun.

Though the actor's father, Mammootty is a legendary Malayalam star, Dulquer carved a niche for his own self. He proved his mettle with his first ever film, 'Second Show' with a list of other newcomers, thus bagging an award for his performance in the film. Dulquer is one of the actors, whose films have been remade in several languages. For instance, 'O Kadhal Kanmani' got remade in Hindi as 'OK Jaanu', 'Charlie' in Marathi and now there are talks of his 'Ustaad Hotel' being remade in Hindi.

When asked him whether he would be interested in reprising his role, Dulquer said, "I don't believe in making remakes. My big desire is to do original content. I get really excited when my film is being remade. I feel like we found a very special film. I wouldn't want to do a remake because firstly, we are making a remake because it's very special, and everybody thinks that story needs to go much wider and farther… But the problem with this might be that the original might be such a class and wonderful film. No matter what you do, comparisons will keep happening."

Talking some more about it, he further said, "We can make an adaptation of the film, where you can take an essence or an idea and we imagine it…but I still want to do original content. I don't want to be an auto-pilot. I really want to do something new and feel it."

Also, when asked about the kind of conversations he has with his father at the dinner table, does it involves films? He quips, "It's not films. Like any other job, we just share saying that today was a tough day due to fight sequences. They are only things like that. We don't get into sort of breaking down every release because I feel that there's so much happening at the shoot. So, when you come back, it's kind of nice to just enjoy being at home."

On the professional front, apart from his Malayalam films' line-up, he is awaiting the release of Karwaan with Irrfan Khan and Mithila Palkar. Helmed by Akarsh Khurana, the road-trip film hits the marquee on August 03, 2018. The actor has also signed another Bollywood project alongside Sonam Kapoor, 'The Zoya Factor'.
