Plenty, if you ask aggrieved filmmakers who allege that the Film Chambers and the Censor Board are behaving like the Taliban

The Censor Board has instructed N S Rajkumar, the producer of Hodi Maga ('Thrash Him') to change the title of his film, insisting that it promoted "unnecessary violence". A few months ago, the KFCC stipulated that other language titles wouldn't be cleared. The Kannada film industry reacts to these norms and terms them "draconian".u00a0

Authorities like the KFCC and the Censor Board should concentrate on scripts and content, instead of wasting time over film titles. As long as the title is meaningful, we should accept it even if is not Kannada. There was no such rule when I made the film Accident, and I must say I was lucky to escape their scrutiny with my recent release, Venkata In Sankata.u00a0u00a0u00a0u00a0

As filmmakers, we know our responsibilities. We don't need Taliban rule from the Censor Board! If I decide to make a film on Poornachandra Tejaswi's novel, Jugari Cross, why should I change the title just to suit some silly rule imposed by bodies like the Censor Board?

Puneeth Rajkumar, actoru00a0
The rules imposed by the Film Chamber and the Censor Board scare me! Why don't they publish the guidelines? Creating trouble for the producer just when the film is due for release is bad. If the title suits the story, why tamper with it?u00a0u00a0u00a0

Ramu, producer of Kannadada Kiran Bedi and Rajani
As a producer, I would want a catchy or controversial title that has the potential to create a buzz. The Film Chamber should not grudge us this liberty.u00a0u00a0u00a0

Prajwal Devaraj, actor
Any rule that helps to promote Kannada as a language is welcome. However, when either the Censor Board or the KFCC calls for a change in a film's title, they should justify their demand.u00a0
