Fahadh Faasil’s Maareesan hit theatres today. The Tamil film pairs him alongside Vadivelu. During the film’s promotions, the actor once again spoke about his retirement plans- something he had hinted at earlier. He had previously mentioned that his dream retirement involves driving an Uber in Spain.
Fahadh Faasil shares retirement plan
In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India, Fahadh was asked if he still holds on to the dream of becoming a cab driver in Spain. The actor said the dream still stands and he plans to pursue it when he is no longer relevant in the world of acting.
“Absolutely. We were in Barcelona a few months ago. So, yeah, of course. It’ll only happen after people are done with me, you know? I mean, jokes apart- but just to drive someone from one place to another... at least, witnessing someone’s destination- I think that’s a beautiful thing.”
Fahadh finds meaning in transporting people and engaging with them. He further added,
“I still do that every time I get a chance. That’s my time. Not just driving- you constantly engage yourself in things you love doing, be it a game or a sport or watching TV. I think it helps in the way you look at things.”
Fahadh on his relationship with social media
In the same interview, Fahadh also expressed his desire to be accessible only through email in the future. The Aavesham actor shared why he avoids social media platforms and uses a keypad phone.
“I mean, I’ve been using a dumb phone for the past year. But it’s not like I’m completely cut off from the internet or anything. I keep telling my wife that ultimately, what I’m trying to do is- within two years- I want to be accessible only by email. I don’t think it’s ever going to happen, though.”
“See, whatever’s on your phone is also on your computer or iPad. So for me, it was more about convenience, to have something like this so that there’s a dedicated time to check emails, reply, and all that. I was trying to bring in some discipline. I still haven’t managed it, but the idea is to create proper time slots for all these things, even for waking up on time, you know.”
