Telugu superstar Jr NTR silenced his fans as he attended the funeral of the late veteran actor Kota Srinivasa Rao on Sunday. The actor was addressing the media after paying his respects to the senior star. As he mourned the demise of the legend, his fans, who had gathered at the funeral site, began chanting his name.
While addressing the media, Jr NTR honoured the memory of Kota Srinivasa Rao. He said, "Let’s celebrate the legacy he left behind through his unforgettable performances across all our mediums, without sorrow."
During his interaction, the actor heard fans chanting, “Jai NTR.” Not pleased with the interruption, he signalled the crowd to stop and instead urged them to chant, “Jai Kota Srinivasa Rao.” His fans immediately obliged.

SS Rajamouli pushes fan
Filmmaker SS Rajamouli also visited the legendary actor’s residence to pay his last respects. However, as he was leaving, he got into a heated moment with a fan who tried to take a selfie with him. The fan followed the director all the way to his car, getting uncomfortably close. Annoyed by the intrusion, Rajamouli pushed the fan aside and gestured with frustration, as if to say, “What?”

Kota Srinivasa Rao passes away: Tollywood pays final respects
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, megastar Chiranjeevi, Rajendra Prasad, Brahmanandam, and Babu Mohan were among the many prominent Tollywood personalities who visited Kota’s home to pay homage. They laid wreaths and consoled the bereaved family members.
Kota Srinivasa Rao passed away following a prolonged illness. He was 83. Over a career spanning more than four decades, he acted in over 750 films across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
His last rites were performed at Maha Prasthanam in Jubilee Hills later in the day.
Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu also paid his last respects. Veteran actors Brahmanandam and Babu Mohan were seen breaking down as they remembered their long-standing friendship with Srinivasa Rao. Babu Mohan, who co-starred with him in numerous films, said, “I lost a brother.”
Other celebrities who paid tribute included actors Tanikella Bharani, Ajay Ghosh, Rao Ramesh, Shivaji Raja, director Trivikram Srinivas, and producers Suresh Babu, K. Atchi Reddy, and Tammireddy Bharadwaj.
Earlier, Chiranjeevi had penned a heartfelt tribute on the social media platform X, "With the film Pranam Khareedu, he and I began our cinematic journeys together. Since then, he portrayed hundreds of diverse roles, winning the hearts of Telugu audiences with his unique and powerful style. Whether as a comedic villain, a serious antagonist, or a supporting character, every performance felt like it was tailor-made for him."
"Recently, a personal tragedy had deeply impacted him. The void left by an actor like Sri Kota Srinivasa Rao is irreparable for the industry and for film lovers. I pray for his soul’s peace and extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, well-wishers, and fans."
Jr NTR also paid tribute on X, "Kota Srinivasa Rao garu... that name is enough. An actor of unmatched caliber, he breathed life into every role with his inimitable style. The moments I shared with him during our film collaborations will remain unforgettable. I pray for peace to his soul and offer my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones."
