Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda tied the knot on Thursday morning in a dreamy wedding ceremony in Udaipur. The couple got married in the presence of close family and friends. People close to the couple were invited for the grand wedding celebrations which began on February 23. Celebrities including Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Kalyani Priyadarshan are part of the wedding party. The couple will be hosting a wedding reception in Hyderabad later in March.

When Rishab Shetty was asked about Rashmika Mandanna's wedding

Ahead of the wedding, actor and filmmaker Rishab Shetty was asked about the marriage by the media. However, he chose not to respond. Rishab had directed Rashmika in her debut Kannada film Kirik Party (2016).

On Wednesday, Rishab was present at the concluding day of Sri Raghavendra Guruvaibhavotsava in Mantralayam following the launch of his next film, Jai Hanuman, directed by Prashanth Varma. At the event, he interacted with the press and expressed his excitement about being part of the celebrations and playing the titular role in the upcoming film.

During the media interaction, a reporter asked him, “Sir, now Rashmika Mandanna is getting married. Did you get an invitation?” While he had been patiently answering other questions, Rishab declined to comment on the wedding. He simply smiled, said “Thank you,” and walked away.

He was also asked whether he would shift his focus to devotional films like actor and filmmaker Rakshit Shetty, Rashmika’s former fiancé and the lead of Kirik Party. Rishab responded that they are all artists, and that good roles and opportunities ultimately determine the kind of projects they choose.

Past exchanges between Rashmika and Rishabh

For those unaware, Rashmika got engaged to Rakshit, who is 13 years her senior, in 2017 when she was 21. However, the engagement was called off in 2018.

In 2023, while speaking about her debut, Rashmika referred to her former fiancé’s banner, Paramvah Studios, as a “so-called production house,” using air quotes. Seemingly reacting to the remark, Rishab made an indirect comment, saying, “I don’t like ‘these’ kinds of actresses,” also using air quotes, and added that he prefers working with newcomers as they come without preconceived notions or barriers.
