Vijay Deverekonda and Rashmika Mandanna's wedding ceremony
When Kannada sensation Rashmika Mandanna and Telugu heartthrob Vijay Devarakonda unveiled photos of their dreamy nuptials, held in Udaipur on 26 February, 2026, they broke the internet, quite literally. Their wedding photos have garnered over 28 million likes, becoming the most liked Instagram post across Asia. Siddharth Sharma, the founder of luxury wedding photography company House on the Clouds, sat down with mid-day to have an exclusive conversation about capturing the fairytale wedding.
Documenting Vijay Devarakonda-Rashmika Mandanna's wedding
Siddharth Sharma states that all his clients, celebrity or not, have the same intention: to have an honest and authentic documentation of the day.
"There wasn't a defined brief as such. For Vijay and Rashmika, the important thing was capturing their people, their families and friends, the energy of those moments and the genuine reactions that make the celebration what it is. The idea was to create something they could return to years later and still feel what those days were like."
When the topic of celebs curating an intentional narrative for social media is brought up, Sharma quickly dismisses the notion. "There wasn’t any specific PR-driven brief from their end or any additional pressure coming from external elements. It was a very direct and personal equation, just us and the couple. The focus remained on the wedding itself and how they wanted it to be remembered."

The story behind the viral photos
Sharing insights into his process of getting the perfect shot, Sharma says, "For us, the only real process was to have a clear understanding of how the day would unfold, knowing what was happening and when, so we could be present in the right place at the right time. Vijay and Rashmika were fully immersed in every moment and seemed to enjoy the celebrations more than anyone else."
He uses the image of Rashmika with moist eyes as an example. Sharma explains that the key to capturing emotion is learning how and when to anticipate it. “Having worked at many of Telugu weddings before, we knew there are moments where that feeling hits, like when they lower the sheet held between the couple, and they look at each other for the first time. Rashmika and Vijay are visibly, deeply in love, so all we did was be ready to capture the moment,” says Sharma.

He elaborates, "We try not to over-direct. We largely follow our instincts and respond to what’s naturally happening around us, allowing moments to unfold on their own." The shot which does this best is the one in which Rashmika plants a gentle kiss on Vijay's nose. “It was impromptu, taken right after the ceremony. We were expecting it, because there’s a moment when realisation hits the couple that they are married, and it’s heartwarming to witness."
"The first look held so much anticipation"
Despite the excitement and frenzy around the wedding, Sharma found the getting-ready moments to be the most special. "There was a certain quietness to that time, a mix of anticipation, nerves, and small, intimate interactions that often go unnoticed. And of course, the first look. It was such a fleeting moment, but it held so much anticipation, the reactions, the emotion of seeing each other just before everything began. There was a lot that unfolded in just a few seconds."
