Screenwriting is an essential component of filmmaking simply because without a script, there is no film. An online workshop this weekend will give participants a comprehensive overview of what that process entails. Mayur Puri (in pic), who has been associated with films as a writer, director, lyricist and actor for over two decades, will conduct it. He will teach participants different aspects of screenwriting, such as structuring a story in such a way that there is a set-up, conflict and resolution; learning how to align the beginning of the story to its end; developing a storyline by taking a kernel of thought and turning it into a full-fledged script; getting comfortable with the various characteristics of screen stories; and formatting a screenplay so that the script is uncluttered and visually appealing to the reader. The workshop will end with a Q&A session, where participants can clear their doubts.
