Panaji : A 30-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping his minor daughter, sister-in-law and mother-in-law, police said today.

The accused, an unemployed man living with his in-laws in Margao town near here, raped his daughter and the two other women relatives over the last six months and threatened them with dire consequences, a police spokesman said.

According to a complaint filed yesterday in connection with the offence by the accused's 60-year-old mother-in-law, she was raped by him after he took her to a forest in Pernem taluka of North Goa, he said.

The accused also raped his sister-in-law (wife's sister) several times and also sexually abused his minor daughter, the complaint mentioned, he said.

Based on the complaint, the women's wing of Goa Police arrested the man yesterday and registered a case against him under section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code, section 8(2) of Goa Children's Act and various sections of Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the spokesman said.

Police have not disclosed the name of the accused to protect the identity of the victims.
