In a quest to provide justice to the Kunduli gang-rape victim, members of Odia Nagrik Manch staged a protest outside the Delhi residence of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday.

The protestors felt that the chief minister was not doing justice to the victim, even after her death. Earlier on February 7, the Odisha government declared that the case will be handed over to a Special investigation team (SIT). Patnaik had said that "This was an extremely tragic incident. In addition to transferring the case for investigation to the Crime Branch, the state govt has also instituted an independent judicial inquiry with a sitting judge nominated by High Court".

Earlier, the Chief Minister had said that no stones will be left unturned to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter. A class IX girl had committed suicide on January 22 after an alleged gangrape in October last year. This was followed by a massive outrage among the natives of the village.
