According to Rahman's family, both were involved in the construction business and had a dispute over a flat.

"They were both land promoters. They had a dispute over the constructed area in a flat here. Bhola had threatened to kill my brother if he did not get money for the disputed area. The accused killed him in front of everyone in the locality," Rahman's sister said.

After Rahman's death, area residents ransacked the house of the accused but police rushed to the spot and controlled the situation.
