Thiruvananthapuram: Three doctors who were found guilty in a departmental probe in connection with the alleged leaking out of video clips of a Caesarean section in a Taluk Hospital in Kannur district would be suspended, sources at the Health Minister's office said here today.

Action against the doctors were taken on the basis of the probe conducted by Kannur District Medical Officer who submitted the report to Health Minister V S Sivakumar, the sources said. "We have asked the Director of Health Service to take action against the doctors," the sources said.

Posting of photographs and video clips of scenes of a woman giving birth at Payyanur Taluk hospital in the social media recently had triggered a controversy after the woman filed a complaint with the police. The incident came to light after a regional television channel aired the report on the circulation of "delivery scene" in a social media.

Police have registered a case under Cyber Crime provisions against the hospital authorities based on her complaint. She said in the complaint that delivery scenes were shot without her knowledge and shared on internet breaching her privacy.

Various organisations had registered protests in the incident and demanded action against the doctors involved in the incident.
