Sleuths of anti-extortion cell have arrested two people for extorting money from a stall owner in Kalyaninagar.

The duo has been identified as Mahadev Shinde, resident of Vadgaon Sheri, and Manoj Jediya, a resident of Yerawada.

According to cops, the duo had threatened the complainant, who had setup a new stall in the area, to pay them Rs 9,000 every month. “They also warned him that if he failed to give the money regularly, they’d smash his vehicle. We arrested the duo soon after the victim filed a complaint with us,” said Sachin Sawant, PI of anti-extortion cell.


The duo already has several cases registered against them in Yerawada and Khadki police stations.u00a0
