The sleuths of the anti-extortion cell of Crime Branch arrested two people, who had allegedly demanded protection money from the owner of a Pirangut MIDC-based firm.
Cops said that the callers posed as the henchmen of infamous local gangster Ganesh Marne, who is currently lodged in Yerawada jail.
Those arrested have been identified as Balu Shivram Dhumal (23) and Sagar Dilip Dhumal (23), both residents of Kothrud.

As per the complaint by Rajkumar Saini, the owner of Aryan Diesel Technology Pvt. Ltd, the duo had called him up and directed him to pay Rs 4 to 5 lakh as protection money, and also claimed that firm owners from the area give them regular ‘hafta’.
