Today is 'Kabali day' -- the day the latest film starring Rajinikanth is released. There is mass hysteria and fanfare surrounding the release of 'Kabali'. And the fever has gripped not just ordinary citizens, but even Indian sports stars.

While 65-year-old superstar's films always generate a lot of frenzy among people, this time even cricketers such as Ravichandran Ashwin, Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma and badminton aces like Saina Nehwal and Ashwini Ponnappa seem have come down with 'Kabali' fever.

All these stars from the sports arena took to social media platforms to share their excitement about the film.

Ashwin, who is currently in Antigua playing the first Test against West Indies, is a huge Rajinikanth fan. The off-spinner who is a Chennaite took to Twitter and shared an image from 'Ghilli', a movie which starred Vijay as a kabaddi player, who can't participate in an important game as he had to attend a prayer ceremony.

Former India opener Sehwag celebrated the three Li's in fashion -- KohLi, MooLi (Paratha) and KabaLi.

Rohit Sharma was a his witty best on Twitter. The Mumbai batsman, who is also with the Indian Test team in West Indies right now, tweeted, "On this eve of #KabaliDay , Rajnikanth declares Headquarter of UNESCO as the world heritage site and 22 July as International UNESCO Day."

Raina, who along with Ashwin was part of the now defunt Chennai Super Kings IPL franchise, took to Instagram to upload the 'Kabali' poster and celebrated the festive nature of the movie's release.

Shuttlers Saina and Ashwini also seemed to be caught up in the craze.
