Former Pakistan captain and Kolkata Knight Riders consultant Wasim Akram has returned to Lahore midway through the Indian Premier League III to spend some time with his sons, Taimur and Akbar.
Akram returned home yesterday, the same day when Kolkata Knight Riders slumped to their third consecutive defeat in the tournament, losing by seven wickets against Mumbai Indians.
"I have come back for them (my sons) because I miss them and they miss me and I wanted to be with them. Nothing is more important for me than my sons," he said.
Akram's wife, Huma passed away late last year in a hospital in Chennai en route to Singapore for treatment for several serious ailments.
However, Akram is expected to rejoin the Kolkata side before its next match against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday in Mohali.
