Australia qualified to play England in the Champions Trophy semi-finals after defeating Pakistan by two wickets at SuperSport Park on Wednesday.

The exciting, last-ball win for Australia destroyed India's future in the tournament. India were playing the West Indies in Johannesburg when the Australia vs Pakistan tie ended.

Pakistan scored 205 for six in 50 overs which Australia surpassed with the last ball. The nail-biting affair draw saw fast bowler Rana Naved send down two maidens on the trot.

Brett Lee and Nathan Hauritz hung on to give Australia victory at the same venue which saw rain ruin their match against India on Sunday.

India's match against West Indies is now inconsequential. The 2002 joint winners go home without Champions Trophy success for third time in succession.
