While snapping 11-year-old ties with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Sahara Group chief Subroto Roy has not ruled out the possibility of discussion with the Indian cricket board.

However, sources in the Board said the establishment would not bend its rules to appease one franchise. At the same time, they were cautious about the long-term relationship with the Sahara Group.u00a0

"We are quite strict with the rules and there cannot be an exception for one franchise. But we will try and find out a solution soon by talking to them," a Board official told SUNDAY MiD DAY on Saturday.

Asked about Sahara's main grievance - not being allowed a swollen purse to purchase a player in the wake of Yuvraj Singh's illness, the source said that though they could not bend the rules, the issue could have been sorted out in an amicable manner.

"We have to accept the fact that they have been with us for a long time, but this time we were helpless and couldn't have made an exception for them which would have been grossly unfair to others," the official said.
