Things have gone from bad to worse at Stamford Bridge as reports of an open mutiny over Andre Villas-Boas' way of management.

Chelsea players have formed an opinion that Villas-Boas is tactically incompetent, and lacks the skills to manage such a big club, the Sun reports.

Differences between the players and manager reached the breaking point when Villas-Boas barred Nicolas Anelka from the Christmas party at the training ground. Anelka would be leaving Chelsea during the transfer window and has already signed a contract with Shanghai Shenhua.

Chelsea players then in an act of rebelliousness organised a special lunchtime party for Anelka. "The lads thought banning Nico from the lunch was petty and spiteful," said a Chelsea insider to the Sun.

"AVB has lost the dressing room and it's become so bad several players want to get away now," the insider added. Chelsea will be facing Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next clash on Monday with striker Daniel Sturridge asked to travel along the team despite of sustaining an injury.
