The former Arsenal player had a debut to remember as he was involved in all that was good with Manchester City yesterday, contributing with two assists.

The emphatic win came less than an hour before rivals Manchester United kicked off against Arsenal, and the Frenchman believes it was the perfect performance to rattle Sir Alex Ferguson's men into action.

"It was a wonderful debut because we won 5-1 at Tottenham which is a tough place to win and we did great," Nasri told ESPN.

"Personally I had a good game but what is most important is that we won 5-1 and we have sent a signal to the other challengers. It is just the start of the season.

"It is important to keep our confidence but I am convinced we have a great squad with quality players and here and we can win things."

The star of the show was, undoubtedly, Bosian striker Edin Dzeko who scored four goals, including a 25 yard curling effort into the top corner in injury time.

Dzeko arrived at the Etihad Stadium in January and initially failed to live up to the expectations of his ufffd28 million price tag but he now believes his own future is bright for his new side.

"Yeah of course, because I always had a lot of confidence in myself. I wasn't 100 per cent fit at the beginning when I joined the club in January and now I feel much better. I feel stronger. Now we will see. I want to play even better in the next game.

"I think the last time I scored four I was playing in Germany, we played in the cup against a side in the third division, but today was something special for me. To score four goals in one match in the Premier League is fantastic.

"I think we are getting better and better. Of course with Samir Nasri, he will be great for us and hopefully we can continue to improve in each one of our next games and try to win them all," said Dzeko.
