Delhi somehow seems to be woefully short of the glam factor. Somehow, GMR's corporate image doesn't quite go with the barrage of starsu00a0-- real or pretend... that seems to be around for all the other teams. But since Kolkata Knight Riders were in town, people were expecting the Great Khan (Shah Rukh) to be here to attest to his team affiliations and city roots. Sadly, didn't work out that way, though wife Gauri and some others were seen in the stands. Also, the tempo somehow seemed to be a bit low, and the stage shows and the rest was nothing to be written home about.
No big deal, but...
One of the great changes in the media facilities at the Kotla now are that half of the press box has been sold off as high-priced ticketed seats, resulting in practically half the seating accommodation for the press being surrendered. Not such a big deal really, since most of the people around are hangers-on. That, however, changes when KKR is in town. The average population of the press area is accentuated at least by 15 to 20 as an entire barrage of journalists from Kolkata land in the city. This would be quite a welcome change but for that fact, thanks to a paucity of space, the electronic media personnel are now having to sit outside the allocated area. Unhappy at the arrangements, they all got together to sign and send across a memorandum to the GMR authorities, expressing their unhappiness at the arrangements.
