Officials of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) accorded a traditional welcome to the visiting team at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad on the outskirts of the city.
The Alastair Cook-led team later checked into a star hotel in the city amid tight security.
The visitors will play two practice matches against Hyderabad teams before the first one-day.
Both the warm-up matches on Oct 8 and Oct 11 will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, which will also host the one-day.
The English team will leave for Delhi on Oct 15 for the second match to be played on Oct 17.
