Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand has spoken out on Twitter about the decision by the FA to fine and ban Chelsea defender John Terry

Ferdinand breaks silence over Terry ban

Terry was accused of racially abusing Ferdinand in October last year after television highlights appeared to show Terry making an apparent remark towards the QPR centre-back.

Ferdinand took to twitter today to tell all the doubters that justice has been served and the decision to ban Terry for four games and fine him £220,000 is the right one.

He tweeted: :On a serious note people need 2 read the facts before they send stupid tweets 2 me with liar and grass in it footage don’t lie.”

Chief executive of the PFA Gordon Taylor, has now called for everyone in football to move on from the issue and continue the fight to kick racism out of football. He also spoke about how divisions have been caused within the game due to the length of time the investigation has taken.

He said: “We have to move on now and move on together and continue our focus to eradicate racism from the game and society.

“Almost 12 months on and the John Terry case was still not heard by the FA until the day after Luis Suarez shook hands with Patrice Evra at Anfield. Such a delay has allowed the matter to fester and cause divisions in the football family which will take a long time to heal — if they ever do.”
