Deccan Chargers skipper Adam Gilchrist said Sunday that the ongoing controversy between Indian Premier League (IPL) supremo Lalit Modi and former minister Shashi Tharoor is changing so frequently that it becomes difficult for him to follow it.

"The controversy is changing so frequently that it becomes very difficult for me to follow. So I am focussing myself on cricket," said Gilchrist after the defending champions moved into the semi-final by serving a 11-run knock-out blow to Daredevils at the Ferozeshah Kotla.

Chasing a target if 146, Daredevils were restricted to 134 for seven in 20 overs.

"We thought we had a chance. Toss made the difference. We thought 160 or 170 was a good total but unfortunately we didn't do it. But knowing the nature of the pitch we felt we could defend 146," said Gilchrist.

The Australian praised his compatriots Andrew Symonds (54) and Mitchell Marsh (13), who added crucial 50 runs for the fifth wicket to take Deccan Chargers to 145 for seven in 20 overs.

"Symonds did a fantastic job. And when we came out to bowl we wanted to restrict the boundaries in the first six overs and take wickets," he said.
