India's first-class cricket stalwart Amol Muzumdar clarified that he has not left Andhra Pradesh. "I haven't left Andhra. I have stepped down from captaincy.
It is through mutual consent with the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association that I will not continue to play for the remaining matches in this season as there is no chance of us qualifying for the knockout round.

So, we wanted to give chances to youngsters. I am very much with Andhra,” Muzumdar, who has only managed 97 runs in seven innings this season, told MiD DAY. Muzumdar quit playing for Mumbai in 2009 before moving to Assam.
He joined Andhra last season. Muzumdar is the second highest run-getter in Ranji Trophy with 9188 runs. His former Mumbai teammate Wasim Jaffer is on 9504.
