New Delhi: Rising Pune SuperGiants today called South Africa spinner Imran Tahir as replacement for injured Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh ahead of IPL-10.
Marsh had been ruled out of the ongoing Test series between India and Australia owing to a shoulder injury, prompting the franchise to bring in the South African
leg-spinner.
"Australia and Rising Pune SuperGiants all-rounder Mitchell Marsh was ruled out of the 10th edition of the VIVO IPL owing to a shoulder injury. As Marsh's replacement, the franchise have roped in South Africa leg-spinner Imran Tahir into the squad," the BCCI said in a statement.
Tahir went unsold in the 2017 VIVO IPL Player Auction earlier this year.
As per the player regulations, RPS is allowed a replacement player from the RAPP (Registered Available Player Pool) list, and Tahir was in that list.
Tahir had earlier represented Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2016.
