Mumbai Indians (MI), who became the first side to qualify for the play offs this season, succumbed to their second defeat in three days, this time at home, when Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) outclassed the table-toppers by seven runs at Wankhede on Thursday.

MI's big-hitter Kieron Pollard, who put up quite a show to enthrall Mumbaikars with his 24-ball unbeaten 50, feels there is no need to press the panic button as yet.

"It just proves that we are humans. You can't go on winning each and every game. We had a dismal performance against Sunrisers, but we bounced back pretty well on a good wicket here. We fought. At the end of the day, we are playing against oppositions, good cricketers in their own right, so we are not always going to turn up and win each game. There's no need to panic," the West Indian said.

MI have one more league game against Kolkata Knight Riders tomorrow before entering the play offs. Momentum may not be going their way, but Pollard believes the situation will change in the next match.

"We have to keep our heads high. We have qualified and that's the first step. We haven't taken our foot off the gas. We can pick up the momentum and win the next three, then you will ask me how's the championship feeling," he added.

Pollard asserted that his side needs such matches to be tested before the play offs. "The pitch was a graveyard for bowlers. We stuck to our guns. You want such kind of games going into the play offs."
