Jaipur: A group of youths today demonstrated in front of Sawai Mansingh Stadium here against the Rajasthan government's decision to hold IPL matches in the state despite water crisis.

"There is a water crisis in Rajasthan and the state capital is also facing water shortage and lakhs of people are suffering due to this problem, but the government has decided to conduct IPL matches, which is unfair and against the public interest," Rahul Tanwar, who led the demonstration, said.

He said that the government should withdraw its decision and focus on meeting the water shortage problem to provide relief to people, instead of opting for this "entertainment" activity, Tanwar, who is a member of Congress, said.

Around 50 youths participated in the demonstration.
