The second game of the just concluded three-match T20 series between India and Sri Lanka was the most viewed T20 encounter in the past five years.

The match on February 12 at Ranchi was rated 256 TVM (Television Viewership in Millions) on Star Sports network, according to BARC Panel CS4+ Urban calculations, surpassing by a huge margin the 112 TVM mark set by the India-Pakistan T20 game of December 25, 2012 in Bengaluru.

India won the match played in skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni's hometown by 69 runs.

"This is a fantastic start to the T20 season of cricket entertainment that will be available on Star Sports up ahead. We have got the Asia Cup (Feb 24-Mar 6) being played in the T20 format for the very first time, followed by India playing host to the ICC World T20 (Mar 8-Apr 3).

"All the action from these tournaments will be broadcast live on Star Sports," Star India Chief Operating Officer Sanjay Gupta said in a statement.
